Catering Policies and Procedures

Thank you for considering the Ottawa Torah Centre for your upcoming event. Our Events team offers a wide range of services and options to help you plan a memorable meeting or event.

Menu Selection and Guarantee

A minimum number of guaranteed entrees and a menu must be selected and confirmed with the Catering Director at least 14 business days in advance to guarantee availability due to the seasonality of some selections.

The client is responsible for confirming the exact number of attendees (Final Guarantee) with the Catering Director no later than 7 business days prior to the scheduled event. The OTC will prepare food for 5% over this guarantee.

Service Standards

Breakfast & Lunch Buffets one server per 25 guests
Dinner Buffets one server per 20 guests
Breakfast & Lunch Plated one server per 15 guests
Dinner Plated one server per 10 guests
Hosted Bar one bartender per 65 guests
Cash Bar one bartender and one cashier per 100 guests

Additonal labour may be requested for additional fees


Full complimentary parking lot is available


The OTC reserves the right to require adequate security for events that due to size and nature if the event warrants it. The selected security service must be approved by the OTC and be a bonded security service with the city of Ottawa. The client acknowledges that the OTC cannot be responsible for the safe keeping of equipment, supplies, written material or other valuable items left in the function space / rooms. Accordingly, the client acknowledges that it will be responsible to provide security at any such aforementioned items and hereby assumes the responsibility of loss thereof.

Cancellation Policy

All events are considered definite upon receipt of the signed contract and initial deposit (50% of rental fee). No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 30 days before the event. All cancelations must be made in writing. Please reference your contract for more specific cancellation policies that will apply to your event.
